Vörðr is a piece with presence. The great talon curves across the chest in darkened silver, carrying the unmistakable shape of the raven into something that feels closer to armour than ornament.

Named for the Old Norse vǫrðr, a guard, watcher or warden, it is made for the things you protect and the times when you want to feel protected in return.

The raven has long occupied that threshold in myth. A bird of knowledge and omen, moving between the familiar world and whatever lies just beyond it.

Vörðr is deliberately substantial.

At around 80 g, the pendant has the kind of physical presence that changes the way a piece feels on the body. It sits heavily against the chest, closer to a piece of armour or ceremonial adornment than an ordinary pendant.

The scale allows every detail of the original talon to remain visible: the articulated toes, textured skin and long curved claws. The talons themselves are polished brighter, catching the light as the pendant moves against the body.

This is not a subtle piece. It is made to be seen.

All materials are thoughtfully sourced and each pendant is made and finished by hand, preserving the individuality of the original natural form.

THE MYTH

Ravens have watched from the edges of human stories for centuries.

In Norse mythology, Odin is accompanied by two ravens, Huginn and Muninn. They fly across the world and return carrying what they have seen, making the raven a creature of observation, memory and knowledge gathered from places beyond ordinary reach.

Elsewhere in European folklore, ravens appear around battlefields, prophecy and death. Their intelligence is impossible to miss, and so they have often been treated as birds that know something before we do.

That watchfulness is central to Vörðr. Its name comes from the Old Norse word for a guard or watcher, and the raven is a natural creature to carry that role: alert, difficult to deceive and always looking beyond the obvious.

From talon to talisman

Vörðr begins with a real raven talon from Iceland. The original was carefully lifecast so its full shape could be carried into solid sterling silver without losing the extraordinary natural detail of the source.

Every joint, ridge and curve remains. At this scale, the talon becomes almost sculptural. The darkened silver gives depth to the texture, while the polished claws catch the light sharply against it.

There is very little abstraction here. The form belongs to the raven itself. That is what gives Vörðr its presence: the intimacy of a real natural object, enlarged in significance simply by being preserved in precious metal.
