A real acorn, lifecast from an aged English oak and made permanent in solid sterling silver. A talisman of beginnings, endurance and the strength held in small things.

Draoidh holds the form of a real acorn in solid sterling silver. Small enough to close your hand around, yet carrying the weight of something ancient. Its surface still bears the marks of the seed, the ridges and curves that once held the beginning of an oak.

A fragment of the forest to wear against the skin. The beginning of something vast, held in the palm of your hand.

For the things you are beginning. For what you are building slowly.

Small beginnings. Deep roots.

Wear this talisman when…

  • You are beginning something and want to mark the moment.
  • You need a reminder that meaningful things take time to grow.
  • You want to carry a connection to the oak and the natural world.
  • You are drawn to the idea of strength held in a small, enduring form.

Some Thorn & Claw pieces are cast directly from natural forms and may retain slight irregularities or sharper edges. This is part of their nature. Please wear and handle them with care.

THE MYTH

The oak has long held a place of particular importance in British and Celtic traditions. A tree of great age and endurance, it has been associated with strength, wisdom and the sacred landscape.

The word Draóidh is Irish for druid, a name that draws the talisman towards the old relationship between people, trees and the knowledge of the natural world.

Within the acorn is the beginning of the oak. It may lie dormant, take root or be carried far from the tree that bore it. Its future is not guaranteed, but the possibility is there.

Draoidh takes that simple truth and gives it a form to wear. Not a promise of what will come, but a reminder that even the greatest things begin somewhere.

Explore the folklore, symbolism and history of the oak and acorn

From acorn to talisman

Draoidh begins with a real acorn gathered from an aged oak in England.

The original acorn was carefully lifecast, preserving its natural shape and surface before being transformed into solid sterling silver.

Every ridge, curve and irregularity belongs to the seed from which the piece was made. The silver gives permanence to something that would otherwise change, decay or take root.

A small object with the weight of a much older story. Something grown rather than drawn, made to gather a history of its own.
