The Myth
The raven has long occupied the threshold between the familiar and the unknown. In folklore and mythology, it appears as a watcher, a bearer of knowledge and a creature associated with the boundaries between worlds.
In Norse mythology, Odin is accompanied by Huginn and Muninn, his two ravens who fly across the world and return bearing knowledge. Their names are commonly translated as Thought and Memory, binding the raven to observation, intelligence and the relentless pursuit of wisdom.
In Irish mythology, corvids are closely entwined with the Morrígan, a figure of battle, fate and prophecy.
There is something otherworldly about the raven’s intelligence. The way it watches. The sense that it knows more than it lets on. Forni takes that watchfulness and gives it a physical form. A real talon, preserved in silver, to wear close to the skin.

From talon to talisman
Forni begins with a single raven talon.
Rather than recreating its shape by hand, the original natural form was carefully lifecast so that its curve, surface and sharp point could be preserved exactly before being transformed into sterling silver.
The result retains the character of the original claw: slender, tactile and unmistakably wild.
Each Forni begins with something that once belonged to the natural world. Not an interpretation of a talon, but its form made permanent in silver.

Each talisman is handmade to order and will usually be ready to ship within approximately 4–6 weeks. During especially busy periods, this may take a little longer.

You can choose between a ball chain or belcher chain, with multiple lengths available to suit how you like to wear your pieces. Chain length is the total length of the chain from end to end.
- 18–20" sits around the collarbone, with 20" resting close to the heart and being the most commonly chosen length.
- 22–24" falls slightly lower on the chest, ideal for everyday wear or layering.
- 26–30" creates a longer, more statement silhouette, especially suited to larger talismans.
If you’re unsure, 20" is a balanced and widely loved choice. If the length doesn’t feel quite right, I’m always happy to exchange your chain.
