The mythology & meaning behind the talisman

The raven has long stood as a sentinel at the threshold. A carrier of messages from the otherworld, moving between what is seen and what is sensed.

In Norse mythology, Odin is accompanied by two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who travel the world and return with knowledge. In Celtic tradition, The Morrígan appears as a raven on the battlefield. A presence tied to fate, death and transformation.

The name Forni comes from Old Norse, meaning the ancient one. It calls to something older than language and the kind of knowing that lives in instinct.

Choosing your chain length & style

You can choose between a ball chain or belcher chain, with multiple lengths available to suit how you like to wear your pieces. Chain length is the total length of the chain from end to end.

• 18–20" sits around the collarbone, with 20" resting close to the heart and being the most commonly chosen length.
• 22–24" falls slightly lower on the chest, ideal for everyday wear or layering.
• 26–30" creates a longer, more statement silhouette, especially suited to larger talismans.

If you’re unsure, 20" is a balanced and widely loved choice. If the length doesn’t feel quite right, I’m always happy to exchange your chain.

Crafting & shipping timescales

Each talisman is handmade to order and will be ready to ship in approximately 4–6 weeks. This may extend slightly during busier periods.
