Fylgja holds the natural curve of a fox claw in silver, its pointed form and fine surface details preserved from the original. Light enough to wear close every day, it carries something of the fox’s watchful, elusive nature.

THE MYTH

In Norse tradition, a fylgja is a following spirit, sometimes appearing in animal form and bound to the life or fate of the person it accompanies. A presence that may be glimpsed in dreams or at the edge of waking, never quite belonging to the ordinary world.

The fox belongs to the margins. The flash of russet through the hedge, the eyes watching from the dark. In European folklore it is the trickster, the thief, the creature that survives not by strength, but by knowing when to wait, when to slip away and when to bare its teeth.

Fylgja takes its name from that ancient idea of the following spirit, and its form from the fox. A talisman for the part of you that remains wild, however closely you walk among other people.

Fylgja begins with a fox claw.

Rather than recreating its shape by hand, the original natural form was carefully lifecast, preserving its curve, surface and pointed tip before being transformed into sterling silver.

The result retains the character of the original claw: tactile, curved and unmistakably wild.

Not an interpretation of a fox claw, but its form made permanent in silver.

Crafting & shipping timescales

Each talisman is handmade to order and will usually be ready to ship within approximately 4–6 weeks. During especially busy periods, this may take a little longer.
